South Thames College received a glowing review by Ofsted in a report published last week.
Inspectors rated the further education college "good" after visiting earlier this year.
College results now exceed national averages, with English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) courses rated “outstanding”.
Inspectors were particularly impressed by the "safe, inclusive" ethos and the high-quality management at the college.
Principal Sue Rimmer said: ”I am delighted that the good work at the college has been recognised with this successful result.
"I believe that this, together with our new facilities and impending merger with Merton College, means we now have an outstanding future ahead.”
