Chessington families fighting for a new school bus have been given a ray of hope after meeting with Transport for London (TfL) bosses last week.
More than 130 children from the Chessington area have struggled to get to Hinchley Wood School since their bus was axed in 2006.
They have been campaigning for a direct bus service for years and are set to learn on August 12 if they have been successful.
Parents Steve Griffiths and Steph Narramore joined MP Edward Davey, Councillor Mary Reid and London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon to present their case last week.
At the moment, pupils have to rely on parents for lifts, face a dangerous walk along the A309 or spend up to an hour getting two buses.
