Kingston College students’ success and commitment were marked at celebration evenings in the Hawker Centre on September 16 and 17.
The annual event, called Celebrating Success, was held in recognition of the commitment of members of the early years and childcare workforce who have completed qualifications training during the past academic year.
Kingston College works hard to support the education of workers in this area and about 200 students have achieved qualifications at the college over the past year.
Neil Blumsom, workforce development officer at Kingston Council, said: “The event is really about recognising the workers’ commitment to improving the lives of children in Kingston. Kingston College is one of our strongest partners in ensuring that our learners achieve qualifications in childcare.”
Staff from private day nurseries, creches, out-of-school settings and childminders were also celebrated along with classroom assistants, school support staff, family support workers, foster carers and members of the council workforce who support them.
