A paralympic gold medallist will pay a visit to students to open three new classrooms at their school.
David Weir will open Devonshire Primary School’s three new classrooms and unveil a commemorative plaque to mark the opening of the new building on Friday, November 20.
The new Sutton school’s classrooms are environmentally friendly and wheelchair accessible. As well as the new classrooms, there are three new group rooms, new toilets, a staircase and a lift.
Councillor Tony Brett Young, executive member for young people said: “The pupils will really benefit from this extra space.
“The new classrooms are light and bright and will provide the perfect conditions for the students to study in. They will also benefit by having a bigger playground to play in”.
