Lower school students at ACS Cobham in Portsmouth Road, dressed up as their favourite storybook characters on Friday, October 30, as part of the school’s annual book parade.
More than 150 students aged three to six took part in the parade, while the Flopsy Bunny class, aged two, watched on.
Characters on parade came from stories from around the world, including Pippi Longstocking, Spot the Dog and Sleeping Beauty.
Anne Stewart, assistant principal at the school, said: “The parade gives the younger students the opportunity to role play different characters, enhancing the development of empathy and seeing the world from different viewpoint.
“It also allows them to feel part of a community coming together in a joyful celebration.
"It is a chance for the children to be actors in front of an audience but in a very safe and supportive environment.”
