Parkside School in Cobham is celebrating after it picked up a number of medals in recent cross country running events.
The boys’ prep school in Stoke Road came first in the U11 team event, at the annual Caldicott Cross Country last month, while the U13 team came third overall.
Edward Jamieson, Jack Davies and Ryan Crema came first, second and sixth respectively for the U11s and Renny Smith came second overall in the U13 category.
Parkside’s combined score meant they were crowned champions at the event and lifted the shield for the second year running.
Following this success, the boys triumphed again at the Eagle House event earlier this month, which features the infamous Killer Hill.
Of the 36 Parkside boys who entered, two boys - Jack Draper and Charlie Thursfield - achieved first place. Sergui Celebidachi and Edward Jamieson came second in their races and Nicholas Richards, Alex Nielsen, Jack Davies, Max Bird and Renny Smith all came in third in their individual events.
In the team event, Parkside’s U8, U9, U10, U11 and U13 teams were victorious, gaining first position in each age group.
Parkside pupils also enjoyed a coaching morning with international hockey player Brett Garrard at St John’s School in Leatherhead last week. Parkside’s director of sport, Ian Stamp, said: “Brett is the most capped England hockey international ever, so this was an invaluable experience for the boys and thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
