Volunteers got their hands dirty laying the groundwork for a great new garden at a Wimbledon school.
On Friday, volunteers from Sainsbury’s cleared a patch of overgrown land at West Wimbledon Primary School, which is set to be transformed into a new green space - named the ‘Growing and Learning Garden’ by the Bodnant Gardens school’s pupils.
Nathan Scott, 11, said: “Our school motto is learning and growing so it seemed right to turn those words around to describe what will happen in the garden. We want plants to grow and for us all to learn new things about where our food comes from, healthy eating and recycling.”
