Students got their jazz hands going on Thursday, February 18, at a workshop run by three highly-regarded musicians.
ACS Cobham pupils watched a performance by musicians Troy Miller, Femi Temowo and Grant Windsor, and then enjoyed a masterclass on improving their playing.
Mr Miller, who has worked with the likes of Mark Ronson and Daniel Merriweather, has been hailed one of the most promising jazz drummers in the UK Mr Temowo, an accomplished guitarist, was recently the musical director for Amy Winehouse.
A total of 45 students attended the workshop, which culminated in a performance with Troy Miller’s trio and the participating pupils.
Teacher Cyrus Iravani said: “The artists in residence programme is invaluable in providing us with the opportunity to invite such high quality visitors to the school and we hope that the students who took part will feel inspired by the advice and experience provided by Troy Miller’s trio.”
