Kids were urged to let their imaginations run wild during a visit from one of their favourite writers.
Children’s author Phillip Ardagh visited Ursuline Prep School to launch this year’s Wimbledon Bookfest young writers’ competition.
About 200 children from Ursuline and four other schools enjoyed Mr Ardagh’s reading and book signing at The Downs school last Tuesday. The writer’s creations include the Unlikely Exploits and Eddy Dickens series of children’s novels.
The main Bookfest event - a week long festival with readings, talks and events across Wimbledon - will take place from October 2 to 10.
