A full house at Esher College’s lecture theatre heard deputy leader for the Liberal Democrats, Vincent Cable MP, give a speech on Friday, March 19.
Mr Cable, MP for Richmond and Twickenham, told students about the Lib Dems’ economic policies and his views on voting reforms, as well as what he thought would about the possibility of a hung Parliament and a coalition government.
He also answered students’ questions about the EU and alternative “medicine”.
Meir Shabat, who teaches politics at the college, said: “His was a very engaging talk that prompted many questions and generated follow-up discussions later in politics lessons.
“Mr Cable’s impassionate call for students and young people in general to participate in politics and to use their vote might not have fallen on deaf ears if the impressive attendance at the debates that followed his speech were anything to go by.”
