The lack of nursery places for babies and children under five years in West Putney may have been solved.
Local charity, Wandsworth Voluntary Sector Development Agency (WVSDA) believe by opening new nursery Puddle-ducks in Lacy Road they will be solving the major headaches of local residents.
Many parents were enraged last year as previous owners of a day nursery in Lacy Road announced they were to close.
This left parents stranded with no nursery provision locally.
Justine Greening MP for Putney received many complaints from parents about the closure of the day nursery and lack of nursery provision available.
Greening met with parents and staff at the official opening of the new nursery Puddle-ducks and reassured them of the long term future of the nursery.
Chief Executive of WVSDA Stefan Kuchar said, “We have worked closely with Justine Greening MP, Wandsworth Council and local parents to help provide a quality nursery service in an outstanding garden setting.
“We are confident the newly refurbished nursery will meet the needs of local parents.”
Puddle-ducks nursery will be open from 7.30am until 7pm Monday to Friday and are based at 95 Lacy Road, Putney, SW15 1NR.
