Former Wimbledon schoolchildren will travel across the world to take part in a reunion next week.
Wednesday’s event at The Rowans School has been organised by former pupil Michael Heppner and is set to include alumni from America, Afghanistan and the Orkney Islands.
Mr Heppner, who is also writing a history of the school, said: “Photos, examples of handicraft work and even items of school uniform are being brought along in a crazy festival of sentimentality that is inspired by the well of affection that is felt for the school of their distant childhood.”
The school was founded in 1936 by Marjorie Hampton, at her home in Drax Avenue, who ran it until her retirement in 1977. It is now owned by nearby Kings College School.
