A £1m education centre has opened in Clapham Park.
The Clapham Park education centre is based at Richard Atkins School in New Park Road and is available to the wider community.
The centre will provide varied resources and services including a base for community activities, crèche facilities, study support, advice and interpreting services, and a breakfast club.
It will also include adult learning, access to health and child support services, a studio for arts activities, and an ICT suite.
Courses offered this autumn include ESOL, cookery, craft, ICT and family learning.
The facility opened to the public on September 20.
Lambeth Council leader Steve Reed and Streatham MP Chuka Umunna were among the community leaders to attend the opening event.
The facility was funded in part with cash from the Clapham Park Project, the resident led organisation set up in 2001 given a £56 million grant to spend on regenerating the area.
Lambeth Council also provided £500,000 to fund the centre.
