A school fete raised over £1,000 for new play equipment despite a deluge that forced many events to be cancelled or moved inside.
Despite the bad weather, families at Malden Manor Primary School still enjoyed face painting, home-made darts and a barbeque on Saturday, July 16.
New Malden bouncy castle company King of the Castle moved their equipment indoors and waived their fee to help the school make up for income lost due to some stalls being cancelled.
The money will be used for wooden play equipment for key stage two pupils.
PTA member Lisa Rebbitt said: “It was incredibly different to other years. It was a challenging school fete because of the elements, but nevertheless it was exciting and enjoyable for the people who helped and turned up to support the school.”
