A Cobham teenager could be in with the chance of winning a life-changing scholarship worth more than £30,000 if he becomes an apprentice for Britain’s youngest two Michelin-starred chef.

Sanjivan Parhar, 18, reached the semi-final stages of the Le Cordon Bleu UK Scholarship Award 2011 after he submitted a video entry showcasing his love for food and cooking.

If Mr Parhar is selected as the winner of the scholarship for 16 to 19, he will work alongside top chef Tom Aikens in his numerous award-winning restaurants for nine months.

The scholarship also includes central London accommodation.

MP for Esher and Walton, Dominic Raab, congratulated Mr Parhar and said: “He is incredibly talented, passionate about cooking and dedicated to becoming a great chef. “I will be keeping my fingers crossed.”

The semi-final will take place at Le Cordon Bleu’s brand new school in Bloomsbury Square on Monday, November 28.
