Green-fingered residents got their chance to show off everything from marrows to tulips at this year’s Claygate Flower and Village Show.
The event, held at Claygate Recreation Ground on Saturday, July 16, has been a regular feature in the village for more than 100 years.
Residents grew fruit and vegetables for competitions, arranged flowers for exhibitions and prepared cakes and jams for afternoon tea.
On top of this, there was a petting farm, classic cars and a dog show.
The ground cutting for the planned Claygate Community Clubhouse also took place, performed by a group of boys from the Claygate Cricket Club and girls from Claygate Royals FC.
Fundraising co-ordinator for the clubhouse, Nigel Abbott, said: “We had been looking for the right opportunity for the ground cutting to take place.
“The flower show provided a great opportunity for us to say thanks to many of the local people who have helped.”
