An angry driver whose car was as hit by a bus on three separate occasions while parked outside her home has reached breaking point.
Ophelia Dorrian-Godfrey was given compensation for the damage caused during the first two incidents when the K1 bus scraped past her blue Peugeot parked in Sheephouse Way, New Malden.
The mother of five said the bus left red paint marks, scrapes and some denting but because she does not have a driveway she is forced to keep her car parked in the narrow residential road.
She said: "The second time it happened my mum was out with my son and he heard a big bang and came in and said ‘mum, mum the bus has just hit your car’.
"I am absolutely disgusted. I just don’t believe it. Both times the car had to go off to the garage."
Fear of rising insurance premiums has meant that Mrs Dorrian-Godfrey, who has lived in Sheephouse Way for three years, now sometimes parks on the kerb to be "extra careful".
But the 37-year-old said other residents face the same problem and ideally they would like the buses to drive more carefully, change route or would like the council to provide more parking.
She said: "Every bus has got back end damage if you look. This is the third time my car has been hit so there must be loads more.
"I think we need more car parking spaces and the drivers need to be more careful."
London United, who operates the bus, said the third incident involving Mrs Dorrian-Godfrey’s car on Friday, May 18, was not the fault of one of their buses, so she is now having to stump up the money for the damage.
A London United spokesman said: "We are aware that on two previous occasions London United buses have unfortunately caused damage to Ms Dorrian-Godfrey's car and we are working with TfL and Kingston Council to resolve issues on this stretch of road.
"In terms of the most recent incident – we have carried out an extensive investigation and have confirmed that we are not at fault in this instance."
The spokesman said they would welcome Mrs Dorrian-Godfrey to look at the CCTV to help her identify what vehicle was responsible.
