Today, Thursday, July 4, millions of Brits will be heading to the polls as they vote for who they think should be the next Prime Minister of the UK and the next government.
This is the first general election since the 2019 edition that saw the Conservatives win and Boris Johnson become Prime Minister.
Now, after 14 years of a Tory government, the final election polls suggest that a Labour government could be voted in.
Polling stations are open all day from 7am until 10pm, at 10pm, the first exit polls will be revealed.
However, it won't be until early morning that confirmation of the results will be revealed.
Helping to keep the public updated with the latest election results and information, broadcasters will be hosting overnight election specials.
The BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News will all host general election specials, this is what you need to know.
