Police are investigating after a van was set alight in a quiet cul-de-sac.
Firefighters were called to a white van which was on fire in Primrose Close, Hackbridge shortly before midnight last night.
A spokesman said: "It was a van that had been left for a little while and it appears to have been set on fire deliberately although police are investigating that.
"It was burning fiercely when we arrived but the crews attacked it and it went out fairly easily."
No-one was hurt and, although several people came out of their houses to see the blaze, firefighters were unable to find the white Iveco van's owner.
If you have any information or saw anything suspect in the area at the time you can call police on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
