A group of young Ahmadi Muslims were out in force this weekend helping to shovel snow from pathways.
Members from the local branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), based in Morden, set out in freezing temperatures help clear streets and driveways in Morden and help the elderly with their shopping over the weekend.
Sohail Chaudary, AMYA youth leader for the Merton area, said: ''This year marks the 100 year centenary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the United Kingdom and we take great joy in the fact that we have been running these kinds of initiatives since our arrival in this great country.
''The Prophet Muhammad was sent as a mercy for the whole of mankind and so we try to seek every opportunity to help others.
"Anyone in need of help during these hazardous conditions can count on our support.''
