Former Brentford keeper Simon Moore said he is realising his Premier League dream after signing for Cardiff City yesterday.

The 23-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Premier League new boys, after impressing new boss Malky Mackay with a string of top performances at Griffin Park last term.

Moore came through the Southampton academy, and played for Southern League side Farnborough Town before joining Brentford in 2009.

Bees boss Uwe Rosler gave Moore the number one shirt last season, and his impressive displays saw him keep 13 clean sheets in 52 appearances.

Speaking to the Cardiff City website, Moore said: "I'm delighted to be at Cardiff City - to play in the Premier League has always been my goal.

"It's exciting to think that I'll be working with quality goalkeepers like David Marshall and Joe Lewis on a daily basis and I know that I can develop and learn from them."

Mackay said: "We have been watching Simon for a year or so - he is a real up-and-coming goalkeeper.

"My thanks go to Brentford for the way they went about their business and we are delighted to get Simon in for the start of our season.

"He is one for the future and we have three quality senior goalkeepers in our squad."

Moore could be making a swift return to Griffin Park tonight [Tuesday] when Brentford entertain Cardiff City in their final pre-season friendly before the League Two season starts at Port Vale on Saturday.
