There was a Christmas treat for young fans Archie Wing and Thomas Green last week as the young duo spent the afternoon watching Chelsea training before meeting their heroes.
The Community Day was arranged via the Chelsea Foundation, with the young fans and their parents watching the first team train before meeting the players afterwards for pictures and autographs.
Thomas, a 12-year-old who was diagnosed with Crohn's last month, was joined by his dad Michael and met all of his favourite players, including his hero Fernando Torres.
Thomas said: "‘The best part of the day was meeting Torres, it was epic. He was the player I wanted to see the most and meeting him and the others was the best day of my life."
Dad Michael said: "We can’t thank you enough for the amazing day that you gave Thomas. It was such an inspiration for him and he said it was the best day of his life which after the year he has had is so wonderful to hear."
Archie, 15, is waiting for a kidney transplant and made the journey all the way from Somerset with mum Julie to watch the players put through their paces at our Cobham Training Ground.
The entire squad stopped to sign Archie’s shirt and he said: "It was an amazing afternoon I never dreamt I would get to meet the players in person, it was awesome."
Mum Julie added: ‘The players were all so good with the boys, especially John Terry, Fernando Torres and David Luiz to mention a few.
"It really was a wonderful afternoon and it was so good to see Archie so excited and star struck, after a really tough time for him over the last month."
