AFC Wimbledon striker Matt Tubbs has been named SkyBet League Two player of the month.
Tubbs has scored four goals in five games so far this season - including the opener in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at home to Stevenage Borough on Saturday.
Away from league action, he also has a Capital One Cup goal to his name, as well as the pride of hitting the winning penalty in the Dons Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out win over Southend on Tuesday night.
Boss Neal Ardley said: “This award is thoroughly deserved. Matt has been involved in six out of our seven league goals. I know – I do the stats.”
Sky Bet Football trading manager Paul Lowery said: “Tubbs is proving to be a great signing and has firmed up in the Sky Bet League Two top scorer betting.
“He was as big as 16-1 before the season, but is now the red hot favourite at 13-2 to take the golden boot.”
The 30-year-old was up against Cheltenham goalkeeper Trevor Carson, who kept three clean sheets, striker Kevin Ellison of Morecambe, and Wycombe Wanderers' midfielder Peter Murphy.
Accolade: Matt Tubbs
