Chelsea captain John Terry has sent a good luck message to his female counterparts in the build up to this Sunday’s FA WSL Continental Cup semi-final.
The countries top 18 clubs from the FA’s Women’s Super League One and Two kicked off the tournament in April with Chelsea Ladies topping their regional league on their way to Sunday’s semi-final, where they’ll meet Manchester City Women.
In Sunday’s other semi-final, Notts County play 2013 winners Arsenal.
Terry presented the ladies with a card signed by the men wishing them good luck.
Success in the League Cup has mirrored Chelsea Ladies’ exceptional run of form in the WSL One season, where they are competing for top honours as the season reaches the business end.
Robert Udberg, head of development at Chelsea Ladies, said: “The whole squad have been delighted by this fantastic show of support from our male counterparts.
“Hopefully we can lift the Conti Cup this season and go on to enjoy similar success as the men.”
Kick-off is at 2pm on Sunday (September 7) at Ewen Fields, Hyde.
Admission for the clash is £4 for adults, £3 for over-65s and 16-21-year-olds and £2 for U16s.
Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.mcfc.co.uk or at the Etihad Stadium Box Office.
