England head coach Stuart Lancaster has confirmed Harlequins full back Mike Brown should be fit to face Scotland in the Six Nations next weekend.
The 29-year-old was knocked unconscious in last month's victory over Italy at Twickenham and sat out Sunday's miserable 19-9 defeat to Ireland in Dublin.
The defeat scuppered hopes of a Grand Slam triumph in World Cup year, although captain Chris Robshaw's men remain in contention to lift the championship title with two home games to go.
Quins number eight Nick Easter, impressive as a second half replacement at lock on Sunday, is expected to be made available for his club's clash with London Irish at the Stoop on Saturday.
"We reviewed the game as a whole squad and trained this afternoon," said Lancaster on Tuesday.
"Luther Burrell has a calf strain and will not train tomorrow. Mike Brown has progressed well and we hope to have him back in full training on Friday.
"The majority of the bench players and non match day 23 will be released back to their clubs over the next 24 hours and be available for this weekend's Premiership games.
"We feel they will benefit from some game time and to put themselves in contention for the Scotland match and we will give an update on those players on Wednesday.”
