Brentford head coach Dean Smith has urged full back Josh Clarke to build on his break through campaign with the Bees.
The 22-year-old, who was set to be out of contract tomorrow, signed a new two-year deal at the club today after impressing Smith last season.
Clarke, who scored three goals in 10 games on loan at League Two Barnet last term, made his league debut for Brentford in 2014 and has played 12 Championship games for the club.
“I’m pleased that a new contract for Josh has been sorted," said Smith.
"He finished last season really well and his role now is to carry that on.
"He has to continue developing, learning and to continue the work ethic that has seen him rewarded with a new contract.”
