AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley was delighted with a first point in League One, but admitted “belief and quality” were lacking.
Dons lifted themselves off the foot of the table after Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Northampton Town also garnered a first clean sheet of the season.
In testing windy conditions, Lyle Taylor, Jake Reeves, Darius Charles and Tom Elliott all had chances to break the deadlock, while Ryan Clarke had to be alert in the Dons’ goal to keep out last season’s League Two champions.
Ardley told Dons Player: “It was really tough out there, and their keeper is a decent kicker of the ball and you could see how much he was struggling with the wind in the first half.

“It was tough and it was never going to be a brilliant, free-flowing game in these conditions, but we’re happy we’re off the mark and we know we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
He added: “We didn’t come here for a draw, we had a go at them first half territorially with the wind and were the better team.
“We just lacked a bit of quality and belief.”
Next up for the Dons is a trip to Rochdale, who are also yet to secure a first win of the season.
Ardley said: “We’ve got a really tough away game [at Rochdale] next week and we’ve got to prepare for that as best as we can.
“We need to make sure that all the good work we did at Northampton doesn’t go out the window next week.”
