Brentford midfielder Lewis Macleod will hope to shake off a knee problem to take his place in Scotland's U21 squad next month.
The 22-year-old limped off in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Rotherham, but has been named in boss Ricky Sbragia's party set to take on FYR Macedonia and Ukraine in September's European U21 Championship qualifiers.
Knee surgery and other complications mean it has been nearly two years since Lewis last represented his country, but Bees boss Dean Smith hopes the current issue is not serious.
"He twisted his knee. We're hoping he's OK. He carried on for 10 minutes of the second half before we felt it was right for him to come off," he said.
Macleod's injury compounded Saturday's defeat, but Smith was otherwise pleased with his team's efforts in South Yorkshire.
"The better team lost, but sometimes that happens in football. I can only be pleased with the performance," he added.
"We had chancesit just wasn't our day On another day we win comfortably."
Brentford host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
