League One club AFC Wimbledon have been drawn against Brentford in the first round of the Carabao Cup at Kingsmeadow Stadium.
The fixture will be played in the week commencing August 7.
AFC Wimbledon and Barnet were the two London clubs that were unseeded in today’s cup draw, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, earlier this afternoon.
The seeded teams included Brentford, Charlton, Millwall, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.
Both teams will look to avenge last season’s short stints in the competition, with the Dons narrowly losing to Peterborough United with a goal in injury time to send them out as quickly as they arrived.
At the same stage, Brentford were defeated in extra time by Exeter City when midfielder Ryan Harley found the back of the net for the Grecians in a brutal head-to-head at St. James’ Park.
Elsewhere, Championship new boys Millwall are set to entertain League Two’s Stevenage at The Den and Charlton will now meet the team that beat Brentford this time last year, Exeter City.
Queens Park Rangers will host Northampton Town at home, whilst both Fulham and Barnet will be away from home to Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough United respectively.
All seven clubs will look to be giant killers this year as the possibility of reaching the final at Wembley will prove all too tantalising for some.
