Harlequins' David Strettle faces two months on the sidelines after suffering another break to his fifth metatarsal, writes Sarah Butler.
Having been called up into the starting line up for England's RBS Six Nations opening match against Wales at Twickenham, Strettle had to be taken off the pitch with an injury sustained in the first half.
After seeing a specialist yesterday, with Harlequins' physio Richard Bramford, it was confirmed that Strettle has sustained a hairline fracture to his fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
It is estimated that the injury will see Strettle out of action for approximately 4-8 weeks, although he will return to see the specialist in 3 weeks' time to monitor his progress.
The winger, who was a regular in the England Sevens squad throughout the 2005-06 IRB World Seven Series, made his full England debut against Ireland last season, a match in which he scored a try.
However, he was forced out of the Rugby World Cup by an identical injury last autumn.
