Harlequins trio Tom Guest, Danny Care and Adrian Jarvis are the chief beneficiaries of England's injury-ravaged 26-19 Six Nations defeat to Wales.

The Quins trio have been called up to the England Saxons squad for Saturday's clash with Italy A, following the elevation of London Irish fly-half Shane Geraghty, Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Lee Dickson and Sale flanker Magnus Lund to the senior squad.

Injuries to Lewis Moody, Mike Tindall and Quins winger David Strettle at the weekend have forced England head coach Brian Ashton - who is already without scrum-half Peter Richards - to reshuffle his pack.

Dean Richards' crop of Quins youngsters join Will Skinner and Mike Brown in the squad that beat Ireland A 31-13 at Welford Road on Friday night.

The pair got barely five minutes between them to impress ahead of this weekend's clash in Sicily, and Brown is wary of the threat the Italians pose.

"Italy won't have as many big names as Ireland but, then again, there could be a few surprises," he said.

"I expect them to come out fiery in the first half, but I like to think we will be too strong for them come the second half.

"We have not spent too much time analysing the games - instead we have been working on our own game."

Meanwhile, Brown's Quins team-mate Jordan Turner-Hall was among the stars as England U20s showed their senior counterparts how to defeat Wales on Friday night.

The 20-year-old centre was among a back line that helped the team - captained by former Rosslyn Park number eight Hugo Ellis - dispatch the Welsh 28-15 in front of a 4,554-stong crowd at Kingsholm.

"For an hour we dominated, scored some terrific tries, had one disallowed and could have got a couple more," coach Nigel Redman said. "My culture has always been to take people on with the ball in hand and I am happy with how keen we were to do that.

"You do not get many wins against Wales at this age group level and this represented a good start to the Six Nations for us."
