AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown has admitted his squad is not good enough to sustain a play-off push beyond his first choice team.
The Dons returned to winning ways in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday with a 2-0 triumph at Harrow Borough, thanks to goals from Antony Howard and Karl Beckford.
It ended a run of four league matches without a win, coupled with an FA Trophy exit at the hands of Blue Square Premier side Torquay United.
Brown has seen his side struggle without a host of first-team regulars due to injuries, particularly in the back four.
He welcomed back fit-again full-back Luke Garrard on Saturday as the Dons defence regained some semblance of normality.
And the manager has confirmed he will be bringing in at least one attacking midfielder to go with livewire loan strikers Ramone Rose and Luis Cumbers, signed from QPR and Gillingham respectively.
"We have got to get more consistency. We have to be sure that when we pick up injuries, we have got players of sufficient quality to come in," he said.
"The bottom line is we win when we get our first-choice XI out and we don't when we are short.
"People have had the chance to come in and prove they can play at this level, but have not been good enough.
"It is pleasing to have players coming back from injury, but we will be looking to add to the squad, and an attacking midfielder is a priority."
The Dons are third in the table, with three points separating six teams fighting for a play-off spot behind runaway leaders Chelmsford City, and the importance of the weekend triumph was not lost on Brown.
"We could not afford to drop points at the weekend and it was nice to run out fairly comfortable winners," he added.
"Now we are out of the FA Trophy, we can field a consistent side week in, week out.
"We will give it a good crack, but it is in Chelmsford's hands."
