Teenage striker Robin Shroot has been handed the chance to revive his AFC Wimbledon career after boss Terry Brown revealed their recent spat was now water under the bridge.

The 19-year-old turned down a contract extension before Christmas after finding first team opportunities limited, and went on loan to Ryman Premier Division rivals Harrow Borough, where he netted eight goals in 13 appearances.

Brown slapped a £2,000 price tag on the Ireland U20 international last month, claiming five clubs had met the asking price, but Shroot was only interested in a permanent move to Harrow.

However, Brown, who is short of strike options with Jon Main likely to miss the rest of the season, will now give Shroot a second chance.

"The dispute between us has only ever been about football and Robin feels he should be in the team," he said.

"He had a fantastic run at Harrow and has received rave reviews. He has proved he can perform at this level and we are going to give him that chance here.

"The bottom line is he has always been a very talented footballer, but with young lads you have to make tough decisions on the best way to develop that talent."
