Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, the News Shopper understands.

A loan with an option to buy is among internal discussions for the 25-year-old, whose move to Nottingham Forest broke down.

Palace are expected to have a busy end to the summer transfer window, with up to four additions targeted.

While the South London club prioritise a centre-back, left-wing-back and an attacking midfielder, Dougie Freedman is a long-term admirer of Nketiah and is keen to bring the forward to Selhurst Park.

Following Joachim Andersen’s departure on Friday, securing a centre-back to partner Marc Guehi and Chris Richards is Palace’s leading priority.

The club are expected to up their bid for Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline after an initial approach was turned down last week.

Elsewhere, Palace are seeking an attacking midfielder, with Rayan Cherki - who has just one year left on his Lyon contract - held in high regard at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Raheem Sterling remain considerations, while Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner continues to lobby for competition at left-wing-back.
