Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner revealed that new signing Trevoh Chalobah will be sidelined for Saturday's clash with Leicester City.

Loaned in from Chelsea, Chalobah joined Palace on transfer deadline day, bolstering Glasner's back three. However, the centre-back picked up an injury during his first training session and is unable to make his debut at Selhurst Park this weekend.

“He injured his abdominal muscle in his first session with us - it’s a really strange injury. I don't think he will be out for very long, but he is questionable for QPR and Man United as well," Glasner shared.

Midfield maestro Adam Wharton was due to join the England Under-21 squad over the international break but did not report to camp because of a recurring groin injury.

Glasner confirmed that the Englishman is back up to scratch after spending the week on an individual training plan.

"He will be available. He needed last week to train individually. When we started on Tuesday this week, he had every single training session."

Crystal Palace had nine players leave on international duty, with some players not returning to Copers Cope until Thursday. The Palace boss was pleased to report a clean bill of health for his globetrotters.

"Everyone came back healthy from the international break."

Unfortunately for Glasner, £14 million Chadi Riad - who suffered a knee injury against Norwich - is expected to be sidelined for 8-12 weeks.

The Eagles host Leicester at Selhurst Park tomorrow, with debuts on the cards for Maxence Lacroix and Eddie Nketiah.

Ahead of a potential first appearance in red and blue for Nketiah, Glasner added: "He is ready to start. Otherwise, we wouldn't have spent about £25 million. We don't spend £25million for a player to be on the bench. He can play different positions - he's very smart. He is a different profile to Jean-Philippe Mateta."
