Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has failed in an attempt to purchase fellow Premier League side Everton.
Everton, who Palace face at Goodison Park on Saturday, released a statement this afternoon to confirm that Farhad Moshiri has struck a comprehensive agreement with the Friedkin Group to sell the Merseyside club.
Earlier this month, Textor hinted that he was closing in on a deal to buy the Toffees, sharing: "We're into the final week or two of knowing who the buyer [of his Crystal Palace stake] will be. The contract I have with Farhad gives us a lot of time for that as November 30 is our deadline set to make sure we can complete it."
However, in an interview with Sky Sports, the Palace stakeholder recognised that there was still the possibility of being "gazumped" by a rival bid.

Before reaching a complete agreement to buy Everton, Eagle Football Holdings had to complete the sale of their stake in Crystal Palace. While Textor believes he had "two serious bids" for his 45% stake in the Selhurst Park club, the American failed to reach a deal with either party.
It is unclear whether Textor will continue in his efforts to sell the South London club after his attempt to purchase Everton was left in tatters, although Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish admitted that he and Textor have different visions: "He wants a club that plugs into that where he controls everything that happens. We don't think that is right for us as a club right now.
"We do collaborate with his clubs where we can. He wants to go and do something else, we're helping him do that."
