Brentford midfielder David Hunt says signing a new contract for what he calls his home club is the perfect way to celebrate lifting the League Two title.
The 26-year-old originally joined the club from Shrewsbury Town in January on a short-term agreement before playing a significant role in the Bees championship winning run-in.
Hunt put pen to paper on a new two-year deal on Wednesday having said last week he only had eyes on remaining at Griffin Park and he is looking forward to making an impression in League One.
“Brentford was absolutely my first choice. I have a great relationship with the players and the management team - they were the reason I wanted to come here in the first place,” he told the club website.
“I think of Brentford as my home club and I would have been gutted to be anywhere else other than here.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of next season. It is going to be tough as there are a number of quality teams in League One.”
