Derby County goalkeeper Lewis Price has already impressed his new team mates in Spain having put pen to paper on a season long loan deal to switch to Brentford.

The 24-year-old Wales international, who started his career at Ipswich Town, spent temporary spells at Luton Town and MK Dons last season and will fill the shirt vacated by former loan star Ben Hamer this summer.

He joined up with the squad at their training camp in Marbella this week and was only too pleased to commit to the forthcoming League One campaign midway through the week long camp.

Boss Andy Scott and his men jetted off to Europe on Saturday and after only four-days Price had already made quite an impression on fellow new boy striker Ben Strevens, who claimed he was in a similar class to his predecessor.

“I scored a couple past him when we were working on crossing and finishing, but I went easy on him. I don’t want the goalies coming after me so soon,” he joked.

“He is looking good and looking sharp. I know Ben was a quality keeper, having played against him last year and with him at Crawley, so we were always going to need a quality replacement.

“Lewis has come in from a good team and is in at least the same class.”
