Fulham returned to British shores after their trip down under and got straight back to business - grinding out a 0-0 draw at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The Cottagers, who battled to a Premier-League high eight goalless draws last campaign, were frustrated by the League Two outfit in their clash at Dean Court.

But for boss Roy Hodgson it was a satisfactory workout after the Londoners returned from their tour of Australia at the weekend.

Fulham enjoyed a successful conclusion to their pre-season jaunt, romping to a 5-0 win at Perth Glory with Erik Nevland claiming a hat-trick, along with goals from Andy Johnson and Andranik.

Hodgson’s men will continue their preparations for the coming season with a trip to Championship new-boys Peterborough United on Saturday, all part of the build-up for their entry into the Europa League on July 30.

And the Cottagers this week learned their opponents for the Third Qualifying Round will either be Lithuania’s FK Vetra or Finland’s HJK Helsinki, with the home leg due to take place at Craven Cottage on August 6.

Away from the pitch Fulham have been linked with a number of deals, the most likely the departure of striker Bobby Zamora to Hull.

Both clubs have agreed a fee for the frontman, but there is suggestion that Tigers defender Michael Turner could become part of the deal.

One player on his way to Craven Cottage is Norwejian midfielder Bjorn Helge Riise, who underwent a medical at the club on Tuesday evening before signing on the dotted line on Wednesday.

And Fulham have also been strongly linked with Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch, South African midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi and even David Beckham as they look to put together a squad that could at least emulate last season’s impressive seventh-place finish.
