Terry Brown admits he would love to bring in Calum Willock on a permanent deal - but only if the price is right.

Former Brentford man Willock has impressed in a handful of pre-season appearances for the Dons, including heading his first goal in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over a Fulham XI.

And Brown reckons the frontman has plenty to offer.

He said: “Calum does provide us with something a bit different.

“He holds the ball up very well and he is a good header of the ball.

“He is 27 years old and has experience of playing in the football league, and for a very young side like ours that is a useful asset.

“I will be sitting down with Erik Samuelson to discuss the matter and hopefully we can get something sorted.

“But it all comes down to whether we have the flexibility to add him to the payroll.”

Steven Gregory was the other Don on the scoresheet in the Kingsmeadow friendly, and Brown is equally delighted with the form of the former Hayes & Yeading star.

He added: “I thought Steven had a fantastic game.

“He has settled in really well and will be a big player for us this season.

“It is difficult to judge how good a performance it was due to the fact that it was not a strong Fulham team.

“But in terms of our play it was pleasing and I thought we were deserving winners.”
