A century ago today, a club fixture between Harlequins and Richmond was the first match to be played at Twickenham Stadium.
This Sunday, the U7s team from Harlequins Amateurs will take part in a development tournament for local clubs which will include a mini-sized seven-a-side tag rugby version of that original match.
Having only formed a mini rugby section this year, Harlequins Amateurs are running teams for around 50 players from U7s up to U12s and the Richmond event will be their first competitive outing.
The first international match at Twickenham was England v Wales on January 15, 1910 and this will be commemorated when the two countries meet on February 6 in the 2010 RBS 6 Nations.
