Harlequins academy winger Ollie Lyndsay-Hague has missed out on some winter sun after failing to make head coach Ben Ryan’s England Sevens squad for the opening IRB Sevens Series tournaments of the season.
The 19-year-old - who has been in try scoring form of late on loan at Rosslyn Park - had been among Ryan’s original 21-strong Sevens training camp in October, but has been cut short of the 12-man group bound for Dubai and South Africa in December Former Quin Ben Gollings, the IRB Sevens all-time leading points scorer, is among those looking to repeat last year’s run to the final in the United Arab Erimates.
“Everyone in the squad has worked very hard to get here. More hard work is around the corner for all of the players, but we go to Dubai and George with a good mix of players who can't wait to wear the white shirt with pride,” added Ryan.
England have been pooled with USA, Russia and Kenya in Dubai on December 4, before travelling to South Africa to face Tunisia, Argentina and Scotland on December 11.
