Brentford boss Andy Scott insists there is too much work for him to do at Griffin Park to consider quitting the club - at the moment.
The 37-year-old was the subject of a speculative approach from Championship strugglers Peterborough United early last week, before the Posh appointed Kettering manager Mark Cooper to succeed Darren Ferguson.
Scott ended the week with a 2-2 draw against play-off chasing Millwall on Saturday, that came courtesy of new Tottenham Hotspurs loan signing John Bostock’s brace.
Brentford’s acting CEO David Heath said on Thursday he didn’t want the former Leyton Orient youth team manager going anywhere as he was ‘very much an integral part of our plans and very important to what we are trying to achieve’.
And Scott says all he is concentrating on is getting the Bees up the League One table having claimed the League Two title last season.
“I didn’t have any direct contact with Peterborough. They made an enquiry, the club told them the situation and that’s as far as it went,” he said on Saturday.
”We’re building a squad here and signed Marcus Bean to a new contract. I wouldn’t be signing any of my players if I was looking to get away.
“It is flattering to be linked with clubs in the Championship, but we’ve got a job to do here.
“I always said it is a long process to get us right here and we are in the early stages of that. If I walked away now it wouldn’t be the right thing to do.
“It’s got to be the right opportunity when it comes along. That might be ten years away, but if people are looking at me that means we’re doing something right here at Brentford and all I want to concentrate on is Brentford.”
