Roy Hodgson has backed his Fulham side to regain their form as the Cottagers continue their search for their first win of 2010.
Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Blackburn meant it was back-to-back Premier League losses for the London side, who also lost Paul Konchesky and Clint Dempsey to injury.
But with Fulham back in FA Cup action this weekend, Hodgson reckons a return to positive results is not far away.
He said: “We have to get back the edge that we have had in the past.
“We used to go to places like Blackburn and draw 0-0, but now we seem to be conceding goals.
“We have to commit to hard work on the training field and if we do that, I think we will be fine.
“I am confident that the team will get back to doing well and if we reproduce some of the football we have played earlier this campaign there will be no problem.”
The Cottagers will continue their cup exploits without the services of Dempsey, who suffered season-ending cruciate knee ligament damage at Ewood Park.
And with Bobby Zamora already on the sidelines with a collarbone injury, Hodgson admits his squad are being pushed to the limit.
He added: “The injuries we are suffering at the moment are really cutting into our squad.
“The coming weeks will be a big test for the team, myself and the coaching staff.
“Despite that, I thought we were unlucky at Blackburn.
“The first goal was a fluke, but I thought we would get back into it the way we were playing.
“We should have had a penalty for a foul on Erik Nevland and we are aggrieved about that.
“But that game has gone and all we can do now is look forward and stay positive.”
Fulham’s next three matches: Jan 23 Accrington/Gillingham (FAC, a), 26 Tottenham (a), 30 Aston Villa (h)
