Brentford boss Andy Scott says he is not concerned by a lack of goals on the road this season providing performances continue to improve.
The Bee have found the net just seven times away from home in League One this season, with three of those coming on the opening day of the campaign at Carlisle United.
And Scott’s men travel to Walsall and Colchester United in the space of four days this week simply looking to build on a three match-unbeaten run.
“Of course we want to create more chances and score more goals, but I’m not going to say that is what we must do over the next two games,” he said.
“At the start of the season we were conceding too many. We’ve sorted that out now and have become difficult to beat.
“Providing our performance levels remain high and we start to improve our away goals record between now and the end of the season, I am not worried.”
The Bees travel to Colchester on Tuesday night looking for a repeat performance of the 1-0 win at Griffin Park in December.
United boss Aidy Boothroyd commented the Brentford players marked that win as if ‘they had won the World Cup’, but Scott - who expects Marcus Bean to be fit for the weekend - says there is no animosity between the two sides.
“They were a Championship side not so long ago, have a very big budget and a manager who has managed in the Premier League having taken a team up,” he added.
“Aidy’s comment were tongue in cheek. I haven’t got a problem with that, besides, if you can’t celebrate winning a game of football like that then you are in the wrong sport.”
Brentford’s next three games: Feb 20 Walsall (a), 23 Colchester United (a), 27 Tranmere Rovers (h).
