Bees boss Andy Scott’s has warned his men to cut out the mistakes that have cost them five points in two games as he bids to nip a feeling of déjà vu at Griffin Park in the bud.

The manager watched his side crash 2-1 at Walsall on Saturday, despite striker Charlie MacDonald giving his side an early lead, to follow up last week’s disappointing 1-1 stalemate with struggling Wycombe Wanderers.

Scott blasted his men for failing to stay on message at the weekend - comments that bore a striking resemblance to those made after a 3-0 defeat at Exeter City earlier in the season.

And the Bees chief insists that while the squad have learnt to adapt to the demands of League One football, they must remember the reasons why they have marched up the table since October.

“I’d like to think our players are beginning to understand League One, but I must have said the same thing to the side a million times during the week; if you don’t stick to what you are supposed to do you get beat,” he said.

“At half time I felt we were comfortable and could have gone on and won the game, or at least get a point, but naivety has cost us and it is very disappointing.

“If everyone is trying to do the same thing we are a decent team, but when we don’t stick to how we play then mistakes start to creep in.”
