Brentford boss Andy Scott admits his side has a score to settle with Tranmere Rovers ahead of this weekend’s League One clash at Griffin Park.
Rovers have pulled themselves clear of the relegation zone since snatching a 1-0 win at Prenton Park the last time the two teams met before Christmas.
Their revival has been largely based on strong home form - despite a midweek defeat to Huddersfield Town - while their efforts on the road are more akin to Brentford’s own struggles away from west London.
Tranmere crashed 2-0 to the Terriers on Tuesday, while the Bees saw their clash with Colchester United postponed due to the weather.
And Scott reckons his team - more than most - will be looking to get back to winning ways after the weekend’s defeat to Walsall.
“Tranmere have been getting some good results of late and will be look to bounce back straight away,” he said.
“We need to make amends for the defeat we suffered there. We don’t want anyone to do the double over us this season and that is the motivation for us.
“We conceded a goal we should never have done at Prenton Park and we have got to make up for that.
“It has been a bit stop start for us recently and we need to get some momentum together.
“We have been strong at home but we will give them the respect their results deserve.”
Brentford’s next three games: Feb 27 Tranmere Rovers (h), Mar 6 Leeds United (a), 13 MK Dons (h).
