Andy Scott has demanded his Brentford side ditch the fear factor when they travel to face League One juggernaut Leeds United this weekend.
The Bees will travel to Yorkshire to face a title-chasing United side that have lost just one game at home all season.
But Scott sees no reason his side cannot emerge from the experience unscathed.
He said: “Obviously when you think about the size of the crowd and the stadium there is always that nagging worry about how the players will react.
“I just hope the players go out there with confidence and put on a show.
“We are a small club coming up against a big club and there is no getting away from that.
“But if you look at how we have performed when we have gone to places like Charlton and Norwich there is no reason to feel worried.
“When we played Leeds at home this season I changed the formation a little bit to make it more difficult for them and I will probably do so again.
“But this is the type of game you should be excited about, not fearful about.
“Playing the likes of Leeds was a massive bait in trying to get into League One and we should all look forward to it.”
Brentford have seen their past two games, against Colchester and Tranmere, bite the dust due to waterlogged pitches and the Griffin Park side go from having played seven games in January and February combined to playing seven in March alone.
But you will not catch Scott complaining.
He added: “I would much rather have the games coming thick and fast.
“It has been very frustrating recently as I just wanted to get out there and get the game at Walsall out of our system.
“If you look at our form during this season we have played much better when we have a rhythm in our play thanks to back-to-back games.
“So having to play so regularly really is not a problem for me.
“Of course we are well aware that physically it is going to be a testing period as far as the players are concerned.
“But we have virtually a full-strength squad to choose from and we have looked into ways of keeping the players fresh so I am not overly concerned.”
Brentford’s next three matches: Mar 6 Leeds United (a), 13 MK Dons (h), 16 Brighton (a)
