Brentford boss Andy Scott admits he may be tempted to dip back into the loan market as he looks to secure the Bees’ League One status.
Scott sent striker John Akinde back to Bristol City earlier this week after a loan spell that saw the frontman make just two appearances.
But the Brentford manager revealed that may not be the end of his tinkering.
Scott said: “I had the choice of whether to keep John on or let him go and the truth is by letting him go I may be able to bring someone else in.
“John was not quite what we are looking for but I will keep looking.
“The whole period was pretty unfortunate and I am sure John would admit it did not go as he would have liked.
“It was a shame for him as while he was here we had all the postponements and the games we did play were on pretty poor pitches.
“It is just one of those things.
“He gave it his best but having seen him at close quarters it was obvious to see that we needed something a bit different.”
