People power is behind Brentford’s 11 match unbeaten home league record, according to midfielder David Hunt.
Boss Andy Scott’s men have not seen their colours lowered in League One at Griffin Park since a 3-2 defeat to play-off chasing Swindon Town - a run that stretches back nearly six months.
The only other team to leave west London triumphant in that time has been Championship side Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup and 27-year-old Hunt believes that is as much down to the Brentford faithful as it is to the players on the pitch.
“I’m not going to tempt fate by saying we are going to win at the weekend,” he said.
“Our home record speaks for itself this season. The fans, the stadium and everything about the place has contributed to that. Our support at home has been great.
“Orient is going to be a tough game. They are pretty physical. It is a London derby and we don’t want to lose our unbeaten record just yet.”
Hunt scored against Colchester in mid-week, but he admits he is not guaranteed a start against his and manager Scott’s former club.
“If Andy thinks he needs to change the team specifically to suit one game, that is part of football and I’ll have to accept it,” he added.
Brentford’s next three games: Mar 27 Leyton Orient (h), 30 Oldham Athletic (a), Apr 2 Millwall (a, KO 7.45pm).
